mk2 mike Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 Lol at above. I did the same thing last year. Finished work early, sun was shining; happy days I thought. Got the car out of the garage, washed it, polished it, set off with a smile on my face. Got there to find a completely empty car park. Right day. Wrong week. Twat.

Tall paul Posted February 27, 2014 Author Report Posted February 27, 2014 Hi All ,i must apologize for not turning up, after saying i would be there, yes for some unknown reason i got the night wrong, as all i found were a load of MX3 owners, that started the alarm bells ringing, went last night ( Wednesday ) " DUMB OR WOT " was convinced that it was the 25th yesterday, just dont know why i thought that, ( perhaps im suffering from BRAIN FADE ) LOL but will be down to the next one DEFFO, Haha, no worries mate, I'll get the new date up soon.
luckyjim Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 hi fellas,it was my first time at the eagle and I must say I had a great time chatting to like minded people. it is awkward when you turn up at a meet like this for the first time especially if you are not too outgoing, but I must admit I didn't see the Anglia either so I am sure it was a case of people not realising steve1231500gt was there.i wont hesitate going back again (when my shifts allow) in the future.there were some nice cars there and I was shocked how many people living close to me are into old fords! its nice to talk to people who understand why we spend too much time/money on old motors, workmates and neighbours just don't get it! so to recap,I (and my mate doog) had a great time. heres to new friends! 1
mk2 v6 Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Good to talk to you Jim I was the old grey haired git in the yellow Escort , good to meet new faces.... 1
Muzzman Posted March 8, 2014 Report Posted March 8, 2014 I have to agree with Steve, i have never met such a miserable bunch of t*ssers in my life!! I now avoid Brentwood like the plague regardless of whether its an OSF night or not for fear of meeting any of you! …..only joking Joking aside i've been four times, the first time on my own and to be honest i'm not very good at talking to new people and wandered around like a bit of a spare part, next time i made the effort to speak to a few more people. I think you get out of these meets what you put in. No ones ever been unpleasant when i've tried to speak to them. It's nice to be able to put a face to the names that you chat to and ask advice from on here. 1
theloudboy Posted March 8, 2014 Report Posted March 8, 2014 Thanks muzzman I did try talking to the guy when I got there but I guess his mind had been made up by then, its a shame cos his motor looked wicked
Donald Posted March 15, 2014 Report Posted March 15, 2014 I agree with most of the posts above. You only get out of these meets what you are willing to put in. My first visit I drove down from Norwich and was made welcome by a good few people. I too am not very good at introducing myself and being a 6 foot odd, bald Jock doesn't really help me in Essex either. However, I went back again, unfortunately delayed 2 hours on the A12 because of an accident and by the time I arrived most people had had enough - I was certainly fed up having missed the best part of the night. Nonetheless, I will be back with the newly painted Fiesta at the next meet I am home for. Hope to see the Anglia there.
