malcrim Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Hi, been a member for a while now but not yet ventured into the cyber world of posts etc. Probably down to an age thing as we oldies still enjoy our blue ovals but not so good with computers. I live close to Herts Bucks border, and current cars are: Mk 1 Lotus Cortina in relatively standard trim, although engine has been tweaked a little. Have owned it now for 40 plus years so reckon its genuine!! The other OSF is a 105e Super, that's not so standard. It currently runs a 1600 crossflow with type 9 box. Its got escort rack, princess 4pots coil overs with billy inserts and the rear axle has got a couple of locating bars added. I bought it like this and have no real idea how well its been done. The body is half reasonable i.e. its 10metres away ok , which is ok for now. My question to any of you well informed Ford nuts is what engine to put in and how difficult is it to do? The choices are 1. A 1700 twin cam prepped by CTM in Barking, running 45's or 2. 2litre Zetec with either bike cards or throttle bodies. So any useful comments would be welcome. 1
mk2 mike Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Welcome mate. You must be a contender for the longest owner of an osf on here! Both cars sound great!
malcrim Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 Cheers for that, noticed you're old school fuzz, my Lotus started its life as a police car how random is that.
Admin Vista Posted February 28, 2014 Admin Report Posted February 28, 2014 Welcome to OSF, plenty of us older folk on here. Anglia engine? Tough one, either would be a good choice though the rein cam will probably be easier to install. Get some pics up of them both.
