My mates on the toyota gt4 forum and earlier today he showed me their auction pages, very similar to ebay

is that something that we could see here on OSF in the future or would it be more complicated than it sounds?

Interesting suggestion, how does it work? i.e. is it a proper auction system or just a case of interested parties outbidding each other with new posts in a topic?

Plus, how is it policed? i.e. bidders paying for items they've won, sellers honouring the highest bid if it sells for less than they wanted, etc?

Sounds good to me ! might get some geniune parts at geniune prices,

ebay is ok!  but im tiered of going to buy something and hearing this from the seller,   "Well i have seen one just like this on ebay and it went for ",  and half the time you either end up paying over the odds or come away empty handed.

it might be different if the items being sold are from genuine enthusiasts such as the likes of us on OSF, to other genuine OSFers

i think its a great idea if you can make it work......

Kinda don't agree with the " only for paid up members"

All of a sudden it makes a you and us forum

and a lot of shows runs etc "including donations on days"

I assume can and are given and attended by non paid up members.....

Would it create the attitude fock them I wont support this crap ??

I agree it may be too much work to police for admin staff

As for prices a part is only worth what some one pays for it, if some one has it and doesn't need it well imo its worthless to them as such so any price is a positive.

it appears to be a proper auction where you place a bid or buy it now, the seller lists it for a period of time just like an ebay auction

my mate reckons the forum paid somebody to write the code / software
