As to body repairs, We have a rely good top quality garage next door to us. They realy understand that people love there cars no mater what it is.

They have a Volvo 272 bertone in there at the moment and its pretty knackerd but the guy wants a full resto. The owner says "its his car and his money, We will do the best we can" The painter there is a very talented bloke who knows what he is on about. They also restore lambos, ferrari's alsorts realy, they treat them all the same.

 

As to stupid comments, I get the "who's is the cosworth" line all the time.

my 2 door MK5 Cortina had an RS2000 engine and an RS2000 sticker on the boot.... I took her to Quack Fit in Ivybridge to have the tracking adjusted and I told the guy she was a Cortina. He was adamant she was an Escort... I asked why, he said because it says RS2000 on the boot. I told him I stuck the sticker on and that she was definitely a Cortina. He didn't believe me. Needless to say I didn't get my tracking done there!!

Only last week I had the tailgate open on mine and this fella pops up from nowhere and says (pointing in the boot) "I had one of those, you can't get the shelves (parcel) for them anymore"

I would'nt mind so much, its the ignorance that bugs the shit out of me, you look after your car, its clean and tidy, you obviously have an interest in them and sum nobhead comes up and tells you something which is blatantly not true....why bother, why cant they just say "nice car" or whatever and leave it at that.

had a bloke walk up the drive delivering something when i was working under the car he said "has something gone wrong?" there was 2 axles, 3prop shafts, tool chest, welder ect on the drive at the time my response was "what do you think".

this is the same bloke that came when we had dug the drive up to be redone and said are you having the drive relaid
