eeb43 Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 just bought the one that was on ebay a few times as if i havent got enough projects anyway anyway its got a fibreglass tailgate does anybody know if they had a steel one as standard or a glass one? thanks mark
Veemax Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 I dont think Ford made the estates?, They were converted by company called Farnham so its poss they used fibreglass, I will ask a mate tomorrow as he is a bit of an expert on Farnham estates Pete....
Russian Bear Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 Hi Mark, Yep Abbotts of Farnham did the conversions on Consuls, Zephyrs and Zodiacs. The tailgates were fibreglass as standard for the conversion. The other difference will be the top door extensions on the rear doors. Which one was it that you bought? The black one with chequer plate interior boot floor? Greg
eeb43 Posted June 19, 2014 Author Report Posted June 19, 2014 the blue one with the floor change, i know it was built abbotts of farnham it has the standard rear window in a fibreglass tailgate, the mk2 estates had a simple side opening tailgate with a one off window in a steel tailgate ive had a couple of those but never had a mk3 in fact i dont remember seeing one on the road since the 70s when our next door neighbour had one
