Dpb Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 so after i have been driving around for a bit say i turn it off the car makes a load of noise, which sounds like something is still trying to turn. wanna sort this out was thinking is it the timing or something to do with the carb ??
classicwhitey Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 i dont know what it could be but has it just started doing it and is it a moddified engine? that may help someone here identify your problem... hope you sort it
Dpb Posted July 3, 2014 Author Report Posted July 3, 2014 done it since have have owned it. It is standard cheers
Admin Vista Posted July 3, 2014 Admin Report Posted July 3, 2014 That sound like Dieseling, also known as running on, i.e. ignition continues momentarily after you've turned off the key and the engine turns a few times. There are a number of potential causes, including timing, but a good set up on a rolling road should eliminate any set up issues
monkeymoreton Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 Had this issue on my first mini. It was all down to a air leak on the carb
