droopsnoot Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 can anybody answer this question it may be easy for some of you but ive been offerd a mk2 escort with a gcat chassis number is this an rs chassis number as ive been told the escort is a standard mk2 L but from some forums rs chassis numbers start with gcat the rest of the chassis number only confirm that is a 2 door shell
BIG G Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 see if its got a dash map pocket properly cut in or if an early shell then check spare wheel strap bracket is on the flat in the boot not in the well. but the rs shells are usually start gcat
tim Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 gcat means it was built over in germany in the same plant as the rs but doesnt mean its an rs car
v6pop Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 G = W.Germany C = Saarlouis W.Germany Plant A = Escort T = 2 Door
Danmex Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 What Tim said, my L's got a GCAT number think all the early mk2's had it
