Muzzman Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 Any tips on how to get rid of wood chip wallpaper without pulling the house down?
Bigfish Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 steam steam scrape steam scrape steam steam and a bloddy lot of patience
dalmarshall Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 Be careful with steam especially on old walls, it can take the plaster and render off right back to bare brick! Best to use a decent scraper not too wide and a squirty bottle of water, keep squirting it up to give it a good soak 1
Veemax Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 Good luck with it, i remember spending a week in my first house just trying to strip the hallway from this stuff, even a steamer was hard work!, thinking about it i reckon the quickest way would be yr 4" angle grinder with a sanding disc on it lol, its that tough it could be good to use on my chassis repairs he he Pete......
fieldy1972 Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Hot soapy water. Fairy liquid. Score it with a blade or a wall tiger. Soak the same wall a couple of times with a wide brush. As already said, be careful with steamers. This way has worked fine for me, for over 20 years
SmokeEm Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 You need a wall tiger sir. Quite hard to source but they are around. If you need one, let me know. I can arrange one to be posted to you
