Be careful with steam especially on old walls, it can take the plaster and render off right back to bare brick!

Best to use a decent scraper not too wide and a squirty bottle of water, keep squirting it up to give it a good soak :-)

Good luck with it, i remember spending a week in my first house just trying to strip the hallway from this stuff, even a steamer was hard work!, thinking about it i reckon the quickest way would be yr 4" angle grinder with a sanding disc on it lol, its that tough it could be good to use on my chassis repairs he he

Hot soapy water. Fairy liquid. Score it with a blade or a wall tiger. Soak the same wall a couple of times with a wide brush. As already said, be careful with steamers. This way has worked fine for me, for over 20 years :wink:
