It seems quite clean and at 2499 seems a bargain. Also interested in xr4i's ...I'm open to suggestions...would quite like something that I can get now that is mint for reasonable money. Vista TBH I do still think I'm 21, it's my boyish good looks and that's just not the case <br />

Mkk4 escorts I can't see becoming sought after in the near future. They just aren't that cool in my opinion

Saff cossie........maybe on the rise money wise seeing as 3dr cosworths have shot up out of most 'normal' peoples reach. Folk do say they are a better drive than a 3dr although they are still a 'taxi'

Mk1 fiestas have shot up, I fancied a supersport myself as a cheap little fun car but the prices have gotten too serious for me, hence mk2 xr's becoming more desirable as they are affordable, but inevitably that will push prices up just as 4 door escorts shot up when 2 doors went silly money

Not to us maybe but in general I'm not so sure. They're not fundamentally different from the mk3 and are easily maintained and upgraded by DIY mechanics / pre plug in a lap top to fiddle with it etc so I reckon the price rises of slightly older metal will have a comparable knock on effect

The main fly in the ointment at the moment is the missus has some silly notion that four cars is too many. My argument is the track car is just too much of a pain to run around in, the mk1 is<br />not practical she uses our Golf all the time so a run around is a necessity for me. The way forward is to swallow a brave pill and turn up with something.<br /><br />I think that £3k is actually more like it than the original thinking, that puts it in bit of cheap fun territory. I would prefer a Mk3 XR3 but clearly you'd get worse condition for the money and I wouldn't want a project.
