pnwrs2000 Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Just wondered, can you still buy a slide injection kit ran on say DTA management ? A mate of mine had that set up on a mk2 1600 crossflow years ago and I've always loved the sound & performance it gave
BigBubba Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 You'll be struggling to buy a slide kit off the shelf, it'll have to be custom made and it'll cost mega bucks!! The nearest thing nowadays are roller barrel throttle bodies. What you could do however is fit a set of bike carbs like Kawasaki ZX9 - these are essentially slide throttle.
katana Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Hate to contradict you but although the bike carbs quoted have a slide, this is controlled by vacuum / depression through the venturi - airflow is controlled by a butterfly as usual. Racing carbs are available from Mikuni and keihin that are true slide carbs and i'm sure could be adapted but do feature fuel and air circuits that would be redundant when adapted for EFI. A better set up would be some 40 / 45 / 48 or 50 Lectrons. These are very simple carbs and could be better suited to a conversion - the picture shows a similar set adapted about 10 years ago for use on a Prostock Henson TB's.pdfbike. 1
