mk2 mike Posted December 7, 2014 Report Posted December 7, 2014 Can anyone recommend a supplier for a new front screen?

Admin Vista Posted December 8, 2014 Admin Report Posted December 8, 2014 I have a Heated windscreen in the Van from Ricky Evans Motorsport, they do standard clear and standard tinted screens too and all seem good quality. Personally I think the heated front screen is the most useful non performance mod I made to the van. Standard screens http://www.heatedwindscreen.com/acatalog/classic-ford.html Heated screens http://www.heatedwindscreen.com/acatalog/ford-heated-windscreens.html 1
mk2 mike Posted December 8, 2014 Author Report Posted December 8, 2014 Thanks, that's a good idea. I'll look them up. Getting the car painted soon so thought I'd put a nice new screen in to freshen it up. Nothing looks worse than a freshly painted car with a chipped and scratched screen. Scott, is it heated on a switch or permanently wired in?

Scott, is it heated on a switch or permanently wired in? I wired it via a relay and a standard heated rear screen switch mounted in one of the spare switch slots in the dash. Mine is a dual element one (each side of the screen is a different element) that they made for Safari rally cars and the current draw on it when wired as two separate circuits in parallel was very high so I connected the two earth lines together at the top of the screen and connected them in series so that one side of the screen has a 12v supply from the relay and the other is an earth (as opposed to 2 12v supplies and 2 earths). It takes fractionally longer to demist like that but not so as you'd notice in a road car. 1
