Such a shame. You sure you're doing the right thing? I'd take that beautiful mk1 over a escort cossie any day.

If we're talking about a 90's Escort Cosworth, I have to agree.

Well guys to be honest it's on market but it's not going out of my grasp for peanuts,I will gladly keep her as it is a lovely motor, I can't say how many heads it turned taking it over for MOT.. Reason for escort cosworth is I know the history of car and it's totally original too, I have nagged the bloke for 8 years to sell it as it's one car I've always wanted. But I have sourced another secure lock up so no bids and I'm happy to keep the gem :)

I've woke up this morning and thought what u doing bry!! Car is now NOT FOR SALE. I will get more enjoyment taking her to shows and meeting u nice people than probably see her stripped to the bone for a cozzie lump to go in her :( original all the way I say :)

turnover I don't think it would sit too long at that price for an original unmolested 2door super

there are plenty of lads looking for an original unmodified RARER car to keep ,as most of the mk1 and mk 2 escorts have gone to the scrapyard in the sky or rallying

whats left is usually modified to replicate what we dreamed about owning

so for a rare model survivor and a 2door untouched and original she was priced on the money imo

kenny

ps bry

glad you changed ur mind because in a few weeks or months you would miss the old girl

kenny looking at the pics it looks far from original as strut tops look like they've been repaired badly ,and I'm not here to slag it off ,just my opinion ,if you can get that sort of money then great dont blame him,but as he's keeping it now it don't really matter

I'm no mechanic and body work specialist, I was told ford done something with the struts on early ones, welded plates or something on those lines to save money?? Don't quote me on that but its what I was told? Well to be honest in my eyes its much more original than most, especially mk2 rally cars. All to there own liking, that's why I bought an rb320 impreza as its based on rally and Richard burns so its for rally..mk1 are not they are what they are.

I quote rb320 no rally car lol and I never said your mk1 was ,I also said wasn't having a dig ,just an observation, now if you'd of said you had a 22b which I've owned which is based on a rally car that's a different matter ,and just for the record I've been around escorts for over 30 years so do know a thing or two,as said before what ever you decide to do good luck with the mk1 and enjoy

Obviously you know your stuff about fords as I was still in nursery back then lol.. Well if someone has pointed out it's had this or that done to it then FairPlay,I would like an expert to say yes bry that's been replaced there or whatever but what I know of car it's basically been drove by a little lady all those years and put back in garage under a sheet and when she got to old to drive it, it would come out for service and mots and put back in garage..to me that sounds original in itself. I will be bringing the escort to shows just so I can pick up on knowledge if it's not as seems, I know it hasn't been welded underneath as Mot guy went through it with fine tooth comb.. Love car shows so can't wait for some enjoyment, do you do car shows too turnover?

Yes pal I do go to a lot of events but mainly for racing purposes I'm not into ornaments or show cars prefer to use them for what they are intended for,the mk1 you have does look a good honest example not messed with a lot which is rare these days, and I'm sure what you picked it up for you will never loose any money even if you spend a bit putting your own mark on it

Terry does no what he's on about your car would have to be mint to fetch that sort of money and then you'd have to find the right person who only wants a standard car.i do no myself a couple of unmolesed mk1's and they are alot cheaper one by 5k.and cant sell it.but as i said bring down and i'll have a good go through for you.
