seaneylad Posted February 2, 2015 Author Report Posted February 2, 2015 Just do a search for Welding Cable , you wont go far wrong with that. Biggest issue is voltage drop because of the long leads. Bigger wire means less resistance, hence less voltage drop. I used to use a big ol' leisure battery in the boot when i was running a mega high compression pinto, but you should be fine. If the battery is goosed, by all means, get a larger one, but if you don't need to spend hard earned then happy days!!!!! Mk1 Escort under bonnet battery trays are tucked into a recess in the front nearside corner, you can make it a little longer (if you don't have side draughts on it) but making it wider isn't really an option. Just ordering the bits now, Is it work having a 250amp fuse close to battery im boot? Read that somehwere if not im just going to use the cut off that Vista mentioned earlier Thanks
Danish Posted February 7, 2015 Report Posted February 7, 2015 Is it work having a 250amp fuse close to battery im boot? Read that somehwere I've been wondering about doing that. My everyday car is a Jaguar XJ8 and that has a big fuse on the battery. It seems a good idea.

It seems a good idea. Yeah people say it's not needed. Can't seem any harm in a mega fuse and mega fuse holder with a decent fuse in? Not sure if I will or not yet haha
irishtorag Posted February 7, 2015 Report Posted February 7, 2015 reason for fuse is on the of chance u bare the wire and it arcs of the body car fire !!! at least if its fused its safe 1
