Hello all, have just bought my first classic ford a 1973 mk1 escort. Hoping to get lots of useful info for the car. The car is about 90% done, by the previous owner. Was his toy and also his wedding car so had a cherished life. Various bits still to do but it runs and is MOTd. Had to go down to Redruth, Cornwall to pick it up straight after a night shift from London. Picked car up in snow drove it 280 miles home throught sleet and rain. Only 1 hick up at a fuel stop,(Operator MalFunction) flattened batt as car suffers from vapour lock when hot. But am already chuffed with it.

The car

Started life as a 1300 two door in 1973, Running 2.1 pinto with forged rods and cossie pistons, Flowed head and fast road cam,

two twin 40's, stainless exhaust system, type 9 gearbox with quickshift kit to a 1300 rear axle, lowered and GAZ dampers fitted, polybushed all round, Mk2 front struts i believe with princess calipers rears have 7"drums, quick ratio steering rack. Leather interior(front seats bucket type from an Alfa) six dial dash. Finished in Lamborghini Yellow, Standard 1300 wings and lips. no spots or stripes.

All above by previous owner.

So thanks for reading and for future hints and tips.
