RFChris Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 And its not good I'm afraid. I have just spoken to them about the possibility of OSF having the track to ourselves for a day. Now, while they are more than happy to have us, they can't at the moment. This is because they are currently in the middle of fighting the local over the noise levels. The court case is sue to commence in March. Until they have any further notice they are, regrettably, un-able to take any bookings. So, we have to wait and keep our fingers crossed for Brunters! Provided everything goes well though, the prices will be as follows. For us (OSF ONLY ) to have the track to OURSELVES for a day is £7500. "Blimey" i can hear you saying! Its not too bad though. Individually you would be looking at £125 per car based on 60 cars going out in three groups of 20. For this we get marshalls and no other people getting in the way. Basically for one day the only metal hooning around would be of the old-Ford veriety! And we'd have the place all day so there should be plenty of track time for the three groups. Anyway, i'll keepin contact with them and then let you know when i find out the results of the court case. Until then, if you could reply to this if you would be interested that'd be great. Chris
V8ian Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Fookin TreeHuggers, They will be in for a suprise when the Restored Vulcan Bomber comes out of the hanger for Taxi Trials and Runway Trials on FULL afterburners, and when it takes off----------------- I hope the teacups are glued to the table, I think Brunters will be its home airfield, OH BOY are they in for a surprise, It has to be the loudest thing on wheels, EVER.
Mr Sam Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 i was lucky enough to be allowed in the hanger to get up close and personal with the vulcan.......what an aircraft to get prices down how bout £10 for OSF spectators as id happily come along to watch not much point in taking part id just be getting in the way
V8ian Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 i was lucky enough to be allowed in the hanger to get up close and personal with the vulcan.......what an aircraft to get prices down how bout £10 for OSF spectators as id happily come along to watch not much point in taking part id just be getting in the way I would think the word "Spectators" would bother/worry the powers that be at Brunters, the word to use would be either Support or Passengers, so when people turn up they need to be in OSF cars, even just blagging a lift in the gate, so you can say Im with him.
Mr Sam Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 of course ill be in an OSF........ill happily store spare wheels and pit for anyone that wants a hand setting up
4parajon Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 This is just a suggestion as 60 cars seems a lot to me, would it be feasible to see if another club/forum (obviously would have to be OSF based) wanted to make up the numbers. Just a thought anyways. Obviously if 60 cars is'nt a problem then hairy muff. Oh and yes I'd defo be going
