music editing software

anyone know of any free software that i can download to chop the beginning off a song? i want it as my ringtone but it's got too long an intro and needs chopping.

 

any help is appreciated

Its been a while mate but I think that once you into nero and have your track in mp3 form, You can select the track then I think if you choose options and go into propertys there should be an option for an oscilloscope witch brings all your track info up in sound wave form.

Then you should be able to chop and edit the track accordingly.

 

Like I said mate its been a few years since I have done it but I think it go's somthing like that

i know of a good prog....just trying to remember the name of it....they do a few progs....give me 10 mins and i should know of it
