Messenjah Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 i had a little argument with a post and bent my bumper and have put some scratches into the plastic end cap . ive bent it all back into shape and sitted it back on but the scrathces are quite deep if i sand offf any sharp edges will i be able to fill the scatches with body filler and then paint the whol;e thing with halfrauds satin black ???? or will the paint and filler not stick to the plastic
nitrousnutter Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 yeah id say you could, the paint might not stick to the endcap tho as its slightly err bobbly?, but all that will happen is it may peel off in a few months but it wont be a big deal to redo it if it does, but do ever steam or pressure wash it cus it will come off in sheets lol. but yeah just flush fill it, key the whole endcap with scotchbright and satin black it, but do both encaps or they will look odd.
Rick Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 filler wont take to well to some plastics, youl also need special plastic primer else your paint will be off in a matter of days
Messenjah Posted February 23, 2007 Author Report Posted February 23, 2007 my little brother makes little plastic models (warhammer its called) and he "primes" them with white paint before painting them colours would that be good to use as a basecoat then ??
