ekjim Posted May 28, 2016 Report Posted May 28, 2016 After taking my Anglia to Shakespeare a couple of years back brought it back home with a wounded engine . Fast forward a couple of years and a few shekles later engine built and ready to go for Classic ford show last year though i trailered the car there electronic gremlins only running on 2 cylinders would set me back all that year . Nearly ready and going on all four with some new brakes and fuel system I took the car to my mate Scotties garage to do some work I couldn't manage in a council lockup tidy and paint the boot , wire lights indicators line lock and get ready for mot , I would like to thank Scottie for a great job . Last night when doing last minute jobs filling with water the radiator had sprung a leak as I mounted it to close to the front panel , wire brush and soldering iron sorted . The mot this morning disaster when going on to ramp caught the exhaust clamp tore 2 straps and pulled exhaust clean off , not a great start but with some help from mot guy exhaust back on . Deep breath me and my eldest son Stuart go to put some miles on new engine , headed for the borders Eyemouth to see some seals then Berwick had a great day car done good and Stuart shared the driving ill get some pics up later .

khanlad Posted May 29, 2016 Report Posted May 29, 2016 You must have used up all the bad luck now! All down hill, nice looking angle box, I caught the exhaust clamp putting mine on flat bed for mot, did the rip it off but never sat right since? Explain to me again why we love in practical cars so much?
ekjim Posted May 29, 2016 Author Report Posted May 29, 2016 Thanks for nice comments guys and you're right enough Khanlad, sometimes with all the grief you wonder why we bother but when it goes well it's definitely worth it. Like when I came home in the car last night, I parked up in the village to show a guy from work , when I came back, a lady had stopped beside my Anglia her dad was in the front of her car , he had spotted it from the main road , he was 102 years old and he said that an Anglia was his first car.
