X flow to pinto

Hi could anyone help please. Is a cross flow engine cross member different to a pinto cross member?

as far as i know, both engines were used on same crossmember in Escort I II, only different engine mounts

Would say the same, engine mounts differ

Xmember is the same.

Use the alloy rs engine mounts and if you can stretch to it the alloy sump. Job done.

once again thanks everyone for the help. tried to put the pinto engine and gearbox in last night, a bit of a trial run just to see if i needed to make any major adjustments to the firewall and transmission tunnel. the engine came with a long and a short mount and two rubber bobbin mounts but they fell short of the engine by one inch,(story of my life) at one side. any ideas would be great. thanks again

you may have the wrong ones, or swiched them.

You can get 35mm and 50mm rubber mounts. Make sure you have 2x50mm mounts for the pinto.

Going to fit a pinto in mine next month can you use the pinto sump or will it need changing to a rs2000 sump

You could modify the steel Pinto sump and pick up pipe but it is easier to buy the RS2000 ali sump.
