Valvoline VR1 Racing 20w-50

Many of us use this Oil in our Pinto / x-flow equipped classic cars, most however do so based on a recommendation given by others.

 

Can you give some guidance on what the advantages of this oil are please?

I always used this in my pinto and now in my xflow. Only really used as told by HPE and some old national hot rod boys said it had a higher breakdown point for heat so the engines could run hotter for longer. I never had issues with coking up or carbon build up but always changed the oil every 1k miles. Nothing proven with the quality but I never once had any issues with VR1
