2.0 DOHC is completely different to the Pinto, nothing is interchangeable.

i4 engine, 8v version of the rs2000 mk5 escort engine.

but has 4 cutouts in each piston to take a 16valve head which wasnt ready when the 2litre pinto was discontinued!!!!!!!!!

yes starter is opposite side and no clearance on the sump for a swap
