I'm looking at buying an Emerald 'K6' ECU - initially to run a Pinto, with either an ex-Sierra manifold, or a Jenvey twin throttle body - the DCOE type. Later I want to use it with an ST225 T5 engine. I'll be using it mostly for road driving, but with occasional trips to Santa Pod.

I wondered if anyone had any of experience of them to share, before I place an order?

Can't give a review as I haven't got one but it was on my buy list until a DTA came along at a steal it price! From playing with the software it seems to be a capable and easy to use unit but can't do sequential sparks from memory?

Thanks Katana. I'll check about the spark - the T5 has an odd number of cylinders so that has to have sequential.

Just checked and the latest K6 has 6 ign. drivers so should be able to handle 5 cylinders sequential ok

Anything that Dave Walker has touched is usually gold!

Thanks for that. He does seem good - we've been swapping emails all week, and I think I have a list of what I need now.

Ah, while I'm very happy for a rolling road guy to tune things up, I want to do most of the work myself. Currently I have an ex-Sierra ignition system, a Luminition rev limiter and an electric fan thermostat module. As a first stage I'm planning to replace all of those with the Emerald unit, as well as hooking up a lambda sensor and an ODB2 diagnostic port. I'll move onto fuel injection after all that lot is working.

Just got one to replace my old mbe967ef in my 16v Mini. Had it a few months actually but need to gee myself up to get on with the wiring.
