Hi team. Got hold of 4 wheels but they look a bit grotty. I think they have been lacquered and it's gone flakey and brown.

Can I just get some wet and dry to get rid of the yukky bits then autosol to shine them? Or best I get a pro on it?

To do by hand is bloody hard work, I have done a few sets of wheels starting off with 180 grade paper then working to finer grade. Finishing off with a machine polisher. Used to do my alloy engine cases by hand before buying a polisher and on average would take 40 hrs to do, no fingernails left and got to the stage of blood coming through my finger ends. So unless you enjoy hours of pain knumb fingers and disappointment after all the work send them to a pro and have them re-cut.
