johnny_h Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Am I right in thinking that all type 49 shells should have a rear stone guard bolted to the boot floor?
johnny_h Posted February 28, 2007 Author Report Posted February 28, 2007 So either this aint a type 49 or the holes have been welded up??? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1974-MK1-FORD-ESC ... dZViewItem
Admin Vista Posted February 28, 2007 Admin Report Posted February 28, 2007 Hard to say Johnny I doubt anyone would weld the holes up as it's not a problem to leave them there when the bolts are in place. It does have strut top doubler plates as a T49 should, and it looks like it's got anti tramp bars on the rear axle, again like a T49 should. The only way to know for sure is to look closely in person, it's possible the boot floor was replaced as part of a resto. Oh and in answer to your first question, only early models actually came equipped with the stone guard, but all models were equipped for it.
