does any one know where i can get my original gear knob brought back to its former glory with the 

white markings back on the knob 

 it is a bit annoying that's all

Lacquer Stik is a fill in paint that is often used on camera dials and lenses to bring back lettering. You grind the stick into the lettering and wipe off the excess leaving the paint in the grooves. Just specify the white.
