preacherman Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 A few new cars have been stolen in our area including a 2018 ST fiesta about 200 yards from where my pride and joy sleeps. I think we should have a section on car or garage security without mentioning where anyone lives but some examples of good practice. I want to put an extra padlock or two on my garage but which ones are best how about different types of security bolts and fixings. It's a sensitive subject but it's horrible when any bastard steals from you.
DT36 Posted September 28, 2018 Report Posted September 28, 2018 Can you get a good WiFi signal in your garage, possibly with a TP Link? This will floodlight your garage and ring your phone immediately. I also have a PIR sensor linked to my alarm system. https://www.wickes.co.uk/Ring-Motion-Activated-Floodlight-Camera---Black/p/175173 The Fiestas, focuses and Transits being stolen in south Wales at present are being started via the OBD port and are generally targeted for ringing.
preacherman Posted September 29, 2018 Author Report Posted September 29, 2018 Disappointed by the lack of some good advice .?
katana Posted September 30, 2018 Report Posted September 30, 2018 Did you bother doing a search first? Just did one on 'Garage and Security' and got 54 threads - go find!
