Needed another bench in my garage, but didn't want to pay through the nose for a heavy duty type.

Built this up today having got it off Fleabay, recommended by a friend. £45 and have to say it's rock solid.

I've run out of time with it this evening, but got a little more to do to it.

I have a thick oak worktop left over from our kitchen, which I'm going to jigsaw tomorrow for the main bench area. Then its a trip up Screwfix for an LED tube for the top bit and one of those double sockets with USB and Wi-Fi extender built in.

All in all though, for £45 I'm more than happy with it.

Nice and tidy thing, can only see one disadvantage ........not big enough to do much on !! I usually make mine from discarded timber I can cadge ?  4x4 legs 4x2 cross rails and shelf supports, 40mm worktop covered in 2 mm galvanised steel. Engine and box sat on it no probs !

Can't really go much bigger in this garage, but it gives me a lot more work space than my other bench. As you can see in the pic below, I really needed something else.

On a plus though, the Council have granted my planning on my new den, that will hopefully start just after this winter. Maybe I can go with something like you have then, fingers crossed. Get a pic up for an idea.

I'm thinking that the studding for the cycle storage area will come back out when all is complete on the new den.

Was recently looking at a 1979 Honda Xr250, but didn't have the space.

You do realise that you're going to get me in trouble... :-)
