colr6 Posted November 11, 2018 Report Posted November 11, 2018 Starting to look at gathering a few bits for the mk2 sport. What's the actual difference between the RS 2000 seat and say the Capri recaro ? Some pics will be of good use. If it's bolster difference in shape should be able to get that altered by the trimmer as any seats I get will be re- covered. Are the frames the same or near enough to make a Capri or any other recaro look like the RS one. Mounts won't pose any problem as I'm equipped with an angle grinder and a welder....lol any suggestions or seats gratefully appreciated.
DT36 Posted November 11, 2018 Report Posted November 11, 2018 These are Capri seats and will take a Fishnet or Rolltop headrest. However, look at the top part of the seat that lines up with your shoulder area, compared to the next set of pics below.
DT36 Posted November 11, 2018 Report Posted November 11, 2018 I have thought about these and getting them recovered in Betacloth. Probably cheaper than a second hand set of Recaros, lighter and more comfortable. Only question is if the headreast would drop in or need a bit of welding altered during trimming. 1
colr6 Posted November 11, 2018 Author Report Posted November 11, 2018 Looking at the pics, the RS seats are very similar to the proton GT seats I have in the Tina @ £100 a pair apart from I have roll top h/rests instead of fishnet. The other ones I thought of was the Astra GTE seats as a basis.
DT36 Posted November 11, 2018 Report Posted November 11, 2018 These not to far away from you: These are the headreast that are also in the Capri seats pic: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323511832586 1
