Hi

can someone tell me if i can buy longer front shock absorbers for my 1980 cortina?  i need to increase the ride height of the car at the front and probably higher rear springs as well

Monroe do a special table to check shock for custom applications, do a search on cortina shock length and it should come up. Put your required compression and extended lengths in and see if anything available.

It's a wildcat kit car and the sump sits 4"off the ground.  Also, the suspension is very stiff, I wonder If a larger diameter spring would make it a tad less bumpy on the road.

It’s not something I’d have thought you’d suffer with, considering it’s based on the cortina suspension. They do tend to be on the whollowy side anyway.

I have seen springs which lower the suspension, but none that raise it.  I have also seen rubber spirals which fit around the coil diameter, but I imagine this would make the suspending even harder.
