chinkamon Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 Why hello there So I'm getting bored of this now so apologies if you are too, but, 1500 precrossflow. 3 different carbs of varying sizes, new plugs, new points and condenser, new elec ignition, 2 dizzies, 1 standard 1 gt, new leads, timing spot on, advanced and retarded And still...... There's a spluttery fart at low revs. Now I have the correct gt carb on, jetted correctly,. Cleaned, Stationary, Between 1800 an 2200 revs it sounds like it needs to cough the flem out, either side of that revs, it's happy Driving you can barley notice it. Put a spark tester on when stationary and rev'd to 1800 ish so it starts to play up, there's no spark on 2 and 4, Rev higher or lower, there's spark. Drive it like I stole it and it's flawless. So what's going on?? Any one have any ideas??? Many many thanks in advance
preacherman Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 I once had that problem on a xflow. I changed the coil and fitted accuspark module and all sorted. Mine was in a dutton kit kit car and sometimes it was I or 3 or 2 and 4 it did my head in or sometimes not start. I almost torched that car it was possessed. It was a 1600gt cortina underneath and was nippy though.
chinkamon Posted June 11, 2020 Author Report Posted June 11, 2020 Yea it's got a accuspark coil an elec ignition on When I first fitted it, it seemed to run almost perfect then I set the timing an the original problem has returned?
