Went to pendine sands for the vhra racing great weekend spent all day Saturday in the pub as it was pouring down haha! Slight hiccup on the way down when brother got a puncture though! Kwik fit tried to tell us cars haven't used inner tubes in 20 odd years... Luckily some other hot rod good Samaritans came to the rescue with a new tube and a independent garage was more than happy to fit the tube for a tenner. Good job I was there as pit crew, it's amazing how much you can fit in a Cortina boot!

Well... I said I see the cortina as a male. The Mondeo ( daily) is in the garage needing a stupidly expensive repair 😒🙄😠 for something that on the cortina would take me 15-20 mins an cost around £50 max. ( £680 on the Mondeo and can't do it myself cos no lift/ramp ) Aaanyway... Needed to fire up the cortina to take the kids back to the ex's... Hasn't been started in a few weeks due to wet an cold etc. Wasn't happy about it at all. Woke *it" from under "it's" blanket unannounced, Started straight away then ran cold for ages. An every time I wanted "it" to respond ( rev) "it" went huh huh huh huuuuhhh an continued to be cold an unresponsive every time I tried it on.... It's definitely a female today 🤣🤣it got me across town an back but made it very clear SHE wasn't happy 🤣

Not the modern type of gender discussion don't worry. But for those of you who think of your vehicles in a gender way, is there a reason you do... Or is it just a feeling? Maybe a name provoked the gender? Reason is. My cortina. I think of as a boy, a young man maybe... But definitely male. No idea why or any particular reasoning but just always thought of it being a male🤷🤷. But my misses thinks of it as my mistress. My true love apparently 🤣. Interested in your thoughts

Well I don't think you can definitely class something as old school, as people all have different opinions. I do think that keeping focus rs etc off the forum is wise though. There's other sites for that I think? Keep this to early stuff and up to things like the MK1/2 fiestas, but maybe allow the odd beauty that someones bought that might be of interest to us all. But on that note. In my Mondeo ST220 (54 plate) the other day someone said oo look at that old car that's an old classic isn't it.... It's 20 years old🤷 it's bloody new to me! 🤣🤣

Yea I don't get the pop bang thing. My dad, a proper mechanic For 45 years, said if someone came in the garage with that he'd be fixing it🤣🤣 Although those new Hyundai N series cars ( the GTIs if you like) are like that from the factory🤷

Luckily dad's a mechanic and worked on these in their day so is quite happy to have a tinker with bits, the amount of service history and receipts I have I know it's been looked after so for now, I'm happy, time will tell though😂😂

Apparently out of 4600 ish made, only around 1700 left. Also, According to a reliable source, it's actually a rarer car than an Aston martin DB9 ( in st220 form anyway) which would also explain the lack of information on this model 😂 Bloody superb drive though! And with the full stainless exhausts it sounds a bit angry too😍

Selling my 56 plate c class, it's old, it's not the prettiest body wise but inside is tidy and clean. Just not wide enough for the kids in the back unfortunately. It's a 1.8 litre 4 cylinder supercharged petrol, manual. Avantgarde SE trim. Got a bit of service history the last owners son did a fair bit for him as was the local mechanic. So A LOT of stuff going on the past year, finally things look to be settling down! so hopefully getting back to business, more playing with the car and days out ( fingers crossed) So my ex wrote my daily off for me, just before she picked up her brand new car, her and new her partner got for free.... 😑 Insurance company said it was worthless and gave me pennies for it🤬 so I borrowed some cash, bought a c class mercedes estate locally. Body wise it was a bit tired looking, the guy seemed to love parking IN curbs, and the front had a funny ding. But interior was almost flawless, brilliant! Paid a few grand for it, then shortly after realised having 3 children in the back ( 2 in Car seats, 1 sat in the middle) a c class isn't actually very wide🙈 so after a year of my eldest boy being squashed in the middle, it was time for a new car. So on the hunt for a car wide enough for equivalent of 3 car seats, that isn't a shagged out zafira or something alike. So I settled on a Mondeo. Eyeing up a nice one at a car sales place yea it'll do the job, then as I'm scrolling eBay a particular Mondeo appeared, only down the road in Abergavenny, an cheaper than this one I been looking at. Me an the old chap Go to take a look, it's near flawless, an tidy money too, so a deal was done and my sensible daily wide enough for the kids turned into a Mondeo st220, 3 litre V6! 🤣 Road tax is pretty much £400 a year, same as the Merc, but insurance... Well. I'd like to see your estimates.... Incidentally, There's a c class mercedes estate if anyone wants a tidy cheap car?

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone knows if these headlights can be split open, i.e. the glass removed from the reflector without damage? I seen modern ones can be opened using a heat gun to warm the glue. I'm assuming these are glued together? A friend is doing a project and these size lights are perfect, but, needs to gain access to the insides and doesn't want to spend the money on them only to break them. Cheers all

So some doddery old f**k pulled out in front of the wife (ex) who was driving my Mazda 5 ( based on a focus so still technically a ford🤷) an wrote it off. Luckily kids were ok but the week fresh MOT'd car wasn't😭 So 2 months later NFU gave me some literal pence for the car. So I bought myself a sensible replacement. But it's not a ford. Am I still allowed here🤷🤣 Its a supercharged Merc estate 😁😁. Sounds more impressive if I introduce it that way. But a c class estate for £2500. Full service history and 91k on the clock.im quite happy with it. Drives bloody lovely too!

I would say I'll stay out of this as drive a fully electric van. But it has none of these ipad screens an digital rev counters etc. It has good old fashioned needle style Speedo an charge guage ( same as fuel but battery power instead) It's most exciting thing is cruise control and speed limiter, granted it is a fleet model so more basic than the rest but the full fat versions don't have anything different. Except for heated seats etc but I have seen in some of these new cars an wow they look frightening with the huge amount of screens and shite going on.
