I have a Ford 10 engine that I am trying to salvage. It has worn out cam bearings and I want to install 100E cam shells.

My question is what is the diameter of the cam bores on a 100E engine? I cannot find this dimension anywhere.

Thanks,

Fred V

You may be best contacting the likes of Small Ford Spares in the uk, they show a diagram of the 8/10 engine and also list cam bearings. Reading the text it would appear that 100e bearing are compatible with the 10 engine. Could be worth an email to check.

They are not the same engine. the Ford 10 cam runs in the iron bore of the block, the 100e has shell bearings and a water pump, different oil pump, different head. Some parts are interchangeable.

I finally got my answer from Ford Sidevalve Engine services. They also could not find it in any of their manuals so they measured 2  engine blocks and came up with 1.666" for the cam bore dia.

Thanks to all,

Fred
