Sometimes I look at Flightradar24 to see what plane it is I see in the sky and where its going. Today I noticed this Learjet coming from the north doing some weird loops, over and over. Anyone know what he/she is doing apart from burning fuel???

LJ35 went "back home" and now doing exactly the same !

Looks to be lots of little private planes buzzing about that area, so maybe looking for a landing window or is throwing people out in parachutes.

Those small planes are usually gliders. After the 2nd time around doing the same thing plane went (again) back north. Must be something of a navigation-class or something. Para's are not likely this is a Learjet, they would be sucked up by one of the engines!

It seems there is an excercise going on at a military airfield which is just in the middle of the "circle" the plane is doing.

That's close to the old RAF Laarbruch that's I served at in the 80s, it was a 4 squadron strike tornado station, it's not there now, but had plenty of nights our with the locals in weeze the nearest town! And before any slags me off for being ex RAF I was not, there was a small detachment of royal signals and an even smaller detachment of royal engineers there

RAF Laarbruch now is Weeze commercial airport. (see map) The military airfield I was talking about is "De Peel" situated between Weeze and Eindhoven and not on the map as it is a military base.
