mk2esccy Posted September 6, 2024 Report Posted September 6, 2024 I was wondering if anyone has bought or used this sealey torque wrench. I actually bought a toolzone one from Ebay as it was cheap but it turned out to be a pile of crap. It would also seem that halfords magnusson and draper all have the same wrench that they have branded as thier own. Looking at the reviews of them all suggest the same issues that I had. In that it slips and doesn't always click when it should...ill show 2 photos below of the sealey one I'm thinking of buying and the toolzone one I have and I'm returning.
YellowTaxi Posted September 6, 2024 Report Posted September 6, 2024 Looks decent enough. Probably made in China but looks a hell of a lot better than the other one. How much is it?

Miniliteman Posted September 7, 2024 Report Posted September 7, 2024 That Sealey wrench looks okay, but as with most things you get what you pay for. Especially with the low-range torque wrenches there is a lot of difference in quality. I used a Gedore item until I borrowed to someone and never got back .... if you use it for the sump etc beware that the torques settings given in the manuals are for new parts. If you re-use a bolt in a not so clean thread-ed hole the torque setting needs to be different as you have to overcome the "resistance" of the threads also.
