Only minor disaster was two of the front wheel nuts are b*ggered and I cant get them off as their covers have dropped off, any ideas how i get them off? Im thinging I try and pop the hub cover off and just remove the hub so I can get it on the bench and poss grind the backs of the studs off and push them out. The alloys are only lasers (RS ones tucked away in the spare room 8) ) but are in really decent condition and I obviously want to keep them that way!

The only real bit of body work that needs looking at is this bit on the back scutle..

dont know what to do with it, Im thinking I just clean it up and prime it as I want to get the car on the road in a couple of months, then I'll get it done over the winter with any other bits I find in the mean time.

Oh yeah I also got the missus car MoT'd ...

best way to remove the nuts is to whack an old socket onto it. works every time for me. standard type socket works best (multi grip) not 6 sided. usually about an 18mm.

that patch can be repaired easily and shouldnt cost a lot.

What he said works for me Old socket..Job doneonce you have broken/undone the first one leave the nut with thread still on the car and hit it to get the socket of..

then start on the next one...

Dont use a snap on socket...as it will be fooked after

yeah tried that but an 18 just wouldent grip and a 17 was too small, even when I gave it a good clout with the lump hammer. The other ones were really tight and needed the breaker bar to get them off as the air gun wouldnet do it so I think they have corroded on where its been stood up for a couple of years

have you got any old af sockets lying around? if i remember right 11/16 is a good tight fit.

good luck

you can buy a set of locking nut removers. different sizes in a kit.

yeah that could be an option, I'll see how easily I can get the hub off as that would only cost me a couple of studs rather that a locking wheel nut remover

they were b@stard tight though, even the breaker bar was straining
