Ask anyone (of my age) what their favorite engine sound is and most of them will say the Ford Cosworth BDA (BDG) . There were just a few of BD powered rallycars in 80's over here but I got my "fix" by buying the Sports Seen videos that were advertised in car mags back then, However in 1999 I bought a Motorsport magazine which had a free CD with engine sounds (The Sounds of Goodwood). After listening to that CD the BD had to share first place on my list with the BRM V16 from the 50's. Nick Mason restored such a car and the CD had the pure sound of the first run of that car on a disused airfield somewhere. The sound of this youtube clip was on that CD. Enjoy!

aint no better sound on a 4 banger on carbs or throttle bodies, or better yet a healthy V8 on big carbs. Two days ago me helping out on a 496 stroker Chevy with old style tunnelram and vintage Holley race carburettors for a Gasser dragrace 55 Chevy. Ran it on test mulebench at the door only on headers with friend the engine builder Johnny. AWESOME i tell ya. No lamborgini or ferrari can match this for my taste.

Dude, that BRM V16 sound is just on another level. I get what you mean. For me, it’s gotta be an old school Hemi, nothing rumbles like that. It's funny how a car can just have a soul to it, unlike the time I had to deal with some annoying 2008 Ford Escape issues. Lol, it just goes to show how much a good engine sound really means.
