capricliff Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 Hello all ,i have a 2.8 capri 1984 5 speed that I've owned for 10 years but only just got around to doing it up ,a dilemma has occurred where the speedo cable does not fit into the clock , the cable i bought many years ago and not sure where I got it from but fits in the type 9 box but not in the clock , does anyone know why this is as it's clocks are original ?
capricliff Posted April 9 Author Report Posted April 9 Possibly just didn't want to spend more money on another cable and still be wrong , is there a difference between 4 speed and 5 speed cables ?
katana Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 Most Speedo connections of that era were the same, like this . . . . 4 and 5 speed boxes have connection in same location. 1 1
capricliff Posted April 9 Author Report Posted April 9 The pics I've seen on these cables never show the cable flange that pushes into the clock ,just the square drive that is visible ,it's the flange that holds the cable in the clock , I think I will have to take some pics to show peeps what I mean for future reference
