ratman Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 what is written on the crown wheel & pinion or count the teeth crown wheel x pinion 33 x 8 = 4.125 35 x 9 = 3.89 40 x 9 = 4.44 39 x 11 = 3.54 37 x 9 = 4.11 39 x 10 = 3.9 34 x 9 = 3.7 looks a bit rusty are the bearings ok

Retromotorsport Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 the teeth on the gears are "case hardened" .. which means just the surface is hardend, if the whole lot was hardend it would be too brittle. the case hardening makes the surface very hard so that it dosnt wear
