help needed

i just got this emial from someone asking this.

 

 

I have a Ford Coritna Mk1 and I have a problem regarding the chassis number. They told me that I needed one that is supposed to be situated on the crown of the shock absorber - on the inner panel, but not the one that is printed on the plate, is that true?

i sure do, when the cars where new they had a number scratched into the inner wing near the top mount.

Ford dripped wax on it to try and stop it rusting.

This however didnt work very well lol and the number rusted away.

Even iff the number didnt rust it will have probably had new top mount panels at some time so the number be long gone
