escort21 Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 Get a new rev counter..... ...if its the same sort as a mk2 tina the ignition wiring goes through the rev counter...if the rev counters damaged or disconnected the car won't run..found out the hard way . They have a wire wrapped round a coil on the inside of the counter and this picks up pulses from the coil, i have found wiggling that wire makes it work again...

I know that, but its is a new one (new old ) but i think it just need adjusting will have a fiddle with the screw
Nelly Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 I wouldnt touch that screw as thats there for calibration.. you have probably got a leaky capacitor inside the rev counter. Dosent matter if it is NOS as there dry up over time and crack.. seen a few like this.. worth a look..

Last time i played with the screw it worked, so i will again if it doesnt work i will have to get another If the capacitors leaky can i fix it???
