negri Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 dont pay it mate . stand your ground . if you have paid for sure , no way would they be getting a second payment from me .
4parajon Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 Think youve done the right thing mate, pay it and then fight to get your money back. I know and agree you should'nt have to pay the £45 but things will only get worse. Good luck with it
MK5 Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 i had similar with a parking ticket...i paid cash, didn't get a receipt, then got letters threatening me with court... they didn't respond to any of my letters... in the end i went to the office in person and didn't leave til i'd spoken to the manager... in the end i had to pay the original £30 fine again, but that was better than going to court and paying a massive fine in future i will pay all fines on my credit card so i have proof of payment
X-pack-Glyn Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 this is the exact reason i pay my fines/endorsements and such like with a cheque, a cheque is tracable whilst cash isnt, half the time in this twisted society we live in the cash goes straight into someones pocket and gets forgotten about.
Chris! Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 my dad got a ticket over a year ago now for not wearing his seat belt, he got back in the car and looked at the ticket, the copper who wrote the details forgot to take his name (its a company car, and he owns the company!) and they put the wrong road down radford road instead of radcliffe road, so when the fine came in my dad said that vehicle wasnt driving down radford road, and asked them if they could give him the drivers name, well that was about a year and 6 months ago and we havent heard a thing
