Steering Wheel Boss

Howdeedoodee people, I have a question.

 

I wan't to get a steering wheel boss to fit my Anglia, but I can't find any listed for the Anglia specifically. Does the Anglia share the same boss as a Mk1 Escort or Cortina?????

 

Any advise would be great, and if you have a boss to fit a Mountney wheel, PM me, I will be glad to hear from you.

i dont know if they r the same but ive all ways able to get a boss from the local motor shop

I wish that was the case here mate. There are a few factors, but some are in trouble now and as a result they are having to close. I have tried my various local sources, with no avail.

 

Looks like it is going to be something I have to get hold of online. I am sure they are the same as something else, but I just want to make doubly sure before I part with wonga because it will be hassle sending back etc. etc.

if you could count the splines on the steering coloum i can count the one i got sitting around

i used a boss off a capri on the mk1 which has a similar steering box so that might work on your anglia

m8 people get worried making stuff like that! its not like a wing, if you dont weld a wing on proper it falls off, if you make a steering wheel boss and the weld snaps, chances are your in deep sh*t!

When putting capri steering wheels into Mk2 escorts I used to cut the collapsable bit off the wheel and weld on an escort one. But I suppose I was confident in my welding (they never broke )

 

If there is not a commercially available one (There must be somewhere) then perhaps a machine shop could knock one up?

make one, i did, piece o piss! use the original steerin wheel boss and weld a new mounting face on the front!
