MK II Mark Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 I'm gonna upgrade my brakes, my car runs 13inch rims what four pots do most people think are the best. I don't want princess calipers , I have two hundred quid to spend, any suggestions?
RETRO_AL Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 ive got willwood i think they do the job and are a good price,hi specs look very nice i must say,if you have lots of time to wait
mk2 stu Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 200 quid wont stretch far, but wilwood dynalites are pretty good, i'm running mine on them, only thing is they aint built for day to day use and aint got seals so can corrode if not looked after, hi-spec is expensive but you get excellent quality! dunno if that helps?
MK II Mark Posted March 27, 2007 Author Report Posted March 27, 2007 Does that mean I need more money
Wessie Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 means they usually cost quite abit thats just a picture of posse's desk
mk2 stu Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 well your gonna need new discs, vented and you'll need wilwoods own pads to fit the calipers, it aint cheap, you'l also need new brasided hoses withe the correct fitment into the caliper, they're yankee so need a 1501 male adapter. i know this coz been on phone to rally design today!
RETRO_AL Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 wont capri 2.8 brakes be ok? i had them with the cossie engine and tbh they were fine

bozie Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 have you got drumbs on the rear thats what i want to do
4parajon Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Do you have capri front legs on your escy??? if you do Caprisport do a 13"wheel four pot upgrade for £265(which includes your membership fee of £14) they use a 260mm dia vented disc, and granada 4 pot calipers with brackets. Ive looked into this myself as I'm running a 2.8 brake set up and IMO its just not good enough. I priced up from HI-Spec the equivalent set up and it was £550, allright its alloy and shiny, but thats not important to me. You pays your money and you makes your choice

I spoke to Neil last thursday and he never mentioned it, Ive placed the order with him and Ive sent my hubs off to be re-faced. He even said they were doing another members hubs for the same kit this week too.
