  2. about 40" mate. but it is hard to measure properly while its on the car
  3. how was it to drive with that setup mate?
  4. possibly the best looking capri ive ever seen
  5. Ok, the distance between the ends of my arb at the front of the tca's is about 40", but its hard to measure accurately. Thats with the car sitting on its wheels, it would be slightly shorter if it were jacked up or had a higher ride height. Are you useing escort/capri tca's (theyre the same)? If so whats the distance between where they bolt to whatever crossmember youre useing? Mine are 26.5" apart. I think this is a more accurate way of measuring the diffrance in track and therefore width of the arb. So Id say if your useing escort tca's and the distance between them at the crossmember is 26 - 27" then a Mk1 capri arb would be spot on i reckon Hope my rambling is of some help
  6. With the the compression struts you can adjust the castor angle, i like quite a lot of castor, seems to be more responsive and self steers better when your doing skids but its all personal preferance. If you would rather stick with a traditional arb setup i think a Mk1 capri one could work, they look to me almost identical to escort ones but the track of the capri is about 2" wider. If you want me to I'll run a tape measure over mine tommorow, just let me know what dimensions youd like.
  7. could you use a compression / tension strut setup? and a roll bar with drop links if needed?
  8. hole in the bonnet, big shiney trumpets sticking through
  9. vary nice car indeed, you have impecable taste
  10. I took my nephew to see this a few years ago at the Echo arena in Liverpool. I thought itd be a bit naff but i was proper impressed
  11. welcome mate, car looks sweet! love wide 13s under bubble arches
  12. yeah i reolise that, should of worded it differently.. what i ment was at a particular rpm in a particular gear your speedo will read the same regardless of tyre size. just to clear it up
  13. Ive got 15s with 195/45/15s, probably similar rolling radius as standard. but tyre size doesnt affect what the speedo shows, mine reads about 10% fast.
  14. To be hones t mate I cant remember! whatever is standard for a 1.6 capri! 3.77:1 maybe? speedo shows 60 at about 3500rpm if that helps?
  15. Mk1 Capris had English and Atlas, think it was onls the V6s that had the Atlas? Mines a 1600 and its deffo a 50" English. Mk1 capri Atlas is pretty rare though and therefore expensive. Does plenty of torque mean V8?
  16. you mean like photoshop?
  17. thats tha width of the axle casing im pretty sure. so add probably about 5"? for overall width. hope that helps
  18. IIRC escort axles are 48.5" wide, mk1 capri is 50" and mk2/3 capris are 52"
  19. i use mine everyday, whatever the weather. i always look forward to driving it, even when i know im gonna have to scrape ice off the inside of the screen
  20. Is that an Australian car? they look like the Aussie wing mirrors?

  23. Thanks guys, your coments are really appreciated
  24. Id like to update my previous comment, seals have been on about 5 weeks now, been driving the car most days for the last 2 weeks and the windscreen rubber is shite. seems to have 'shrunk' at both top corners and water pisses in. Im now on the look out for a genuine one, oh and you have to slam the doors and boot quite hard to get em to shut cos the seals are too thick/stiff. Not impressed with East Kent at all now.
