  1. Liked It really is a lovely car mate
  2. if you cant get at it with with a disc, maybe a reciprocating saw? thats what i used when i couldnt get mine out
  3. Does make me laugh when people say this. I've got a roll cage in my car, does that mean I should put it on its roof? if it did ever end up on its roof, youd be glad you had it though. I happen to like the look of 2 up 2 downs on a rally car but it makes me laugh when someone spends 400 od quid hanging a brace of cibies off the front of their car, knowing they will never take the covers off cos the cars only used on sunny sundays. and not wiring em in would be like only tack welding your roll cage in - pretty pointless. At the end of the day people can and should do whatever they want with their own car, but the guy asked for opinions so i gave him mine
  4. have a good one
  5. welshmike

    BBC2

Ford's Degenham Dream on afterwards aswell might be worth a look
  6. isnt that Ari Vatanen?
  7. I didnt think you could get a tax disc without an MOT certificate? so how could you tax it before you went?! as long as it was insured i reckon youll be ok, you aint done nothing wrong
  8. I had it on record an just watched it, how nice was it when finished?! very close to how id have an Anglia, sounded rude too lucky guy having that as a first car
  9. Got a tran-x LSD in mine, best money ive ever spent on the car If your happy with your gearing as is then just put an LSD centre in the diff and leave shafts/cwp alone. But deffo get a slipper, youl love it
  10. Personaly i like the Mk2 maxico stripes. but the thick stripe that says escort at the back that loads of Aussie escorts had looks a bit poo. But build the car you want mate
  11. haha
  12. At last someone talking sense , it was a ' TV SHOW ' ffs , if they showed everything they did it would end up like a ' a car is reborn ' , all the steering bushes were replaced in the end but in the programme he was showing you the brake upgrade , otherwise where does he stop on a car this age , brakes done ,while we here we,ll do the steering , fix the exhaust , cure the oil leak , he could go on but then it would not be an hour long show would it,there was lots done he did,nt show ' new headlining , window rubbers etc ' i was just glad he done an escort too easy to criticise i think as they,re prob not as clued up as people on here when it comes to escorts ,but i like watchin them 2 and i like the show , i thought he was clever on the first show when he borrowed a smoke machine and used it to find where the water was getting in the car , try doing that with a hose pipe on your own ....anyway seeing the car in the flesh i think they did a pretty good job very well said
  13. I say keep the square lights, deffo keep the full length bumper and no spotties. its a great looking car as it is, get some 7" wheels on there with plenty of dish and it will look perfect. Although if your gonna be blasting along some dark country roads at night and youl actually use the spots then go for it too many people stick em on just for 'the look' ive seen a few sets that wernt even wired in just my opinion though, its your car at the end of the day. wouldnt it be boring if everyone liked the same things?
  14. I sorned mine in 2009 when i got it, never renewed it or got a reminder and i taxed it for the first time in october. no mention of any fines or anything from anyone so you should be ok
  15. Same mate, when i used to do drift days id stick 50 odd in the rears
  16. I believe they are doing an Anglia next week
  17. Somewere around 28psi I would of thought mate. depends on a few things though like, weight of the car, your speed and the weather. Check your pressures when the cars cold before you leave on a journey, and then check em as soon as you arrive, should rise by 4psi. Thats the rule of thumb ive allways gone by If they rise by more than 4 pump em up a bit, less than 4 let em down. Theres probably someone who knows a dead scientific way of working it all out but this has always worked for me.
  18. Go for it mate
  19. with, for sure Heres my old van with, i think it looked good
  20. I would, but they are a fair bit more expensive and i could do with the extra couple of inches in width to fill my arches So the brakes do fit? I have the whole setup in use on my car, so i could just swap it all over? What usually breaks on English axles? shafts? crown wheel and pinion? Would I be better off keeping the English and just upgrading it with beefier shafts as ive just put a new LSD in it. Ill be running just over 250hp initially and possibly up to 400 odd in the future.
  21. Thanks very much mate, huge help
  22. Ok guys, got some questions about axles. Im sure the knowledgable people of OSF will have the answers. Ok, so ive got a 50" English under my Mk1 Capri and I want to fit a full width Atlas from a later Capri as Im hoping to be throwing 250+ horsepower at it soon I understand the width differance but my questions are, will the 9" drums from my English fit onto an Atlas? Will the prop fit both diff flanges? And will it fit onto the leaf springs ok, ie are the spring seats on the axles the same width apart? Thanks guys
  23. It was right at the beginning of the program, sort of an introduction and only lasted a few minutes. I can't figure out why they were so determined that they wanted a car with 1/4 bumpers, they said it was because that's what they'd fitted to theirs....................but they didn't ahh sorry, i turned over about 9.02, didnt think id missed anything.
  24. where was the feature with that nice Escort that was found on here? was waiting for it! enjoyed it over all though, car looked smart when they where done. I would of kept the metalic poo brown though
  25. Ive got a mild steel 4 branch on my pinto, wraped it when i put it on and 3 months/about 3000 miles later it cracked the welds where it goes from 4 - 2. Wether thats cos of the extra heat from having the wrap on or just a crap manifold i dunno though welded it back up anyway, will be getting some BBQ paint on there when i get time
