  1. Terrible echo in here ;P
  2. Cheers col
  3. ..... being the Devil's advocate here but neither was my Apache 20 years ago!
  4. Hahahaha! You raise some valid points. Funny too which is a bonus . I suppose the "obvious" solution would be to try the adhesive trim first to determine whether I like it or not. Then, if I'm happy with it undertake a permanent conversion. The chrome trim clip set is readily available, the trim proper, less so. I'm replacing the original Apache decals along the side, bonnet and roof on Tuesday. I'll see if they "tickle my fancy" first but think I'll like the side trim as much, if not more. Which, of course, brings me back to my original question Cheers
  5. The paint is like an iPhone 4S it's that shiny and flat! It's a top b0ll0x job to be honest. I'm not sure I like the overall aesthetic. It don't look at it and think "Wow! That's amazing". It might sound silly I'm just not that sure black suits a Mk1 Escort. I'm finding it's a bit like Bovril! I had considered the OE ones but they require "tags" to be placed in-situ to facilitate attachment of the trim. That would mean drilling the body work which, despite my stoicism, I'm loathe to do!
  6. .... "Can't reach this page" Unless you mean "https://www.mobdro.com/"
  7. After re-painting the Apache Escort back to black I'm not sure I actually like it! I hated it navy blue but don't "love" it black. Granted I don't hate it as much as I did when it was blue but, nonetheless, I'm not "in love" with it. So, to try and break the mass of black up, I'm thinking about adding chrome trim around the side windows. Clips are not in-situ to allow me to use the clip on trim so I'm considering some self adhesive plastic trim instead like the one in the image below. Could somebody measure the width of their trim please? I'd like it to be as near to original as possible. Numerous widths are readily available as are many contour shapes Also, does anybody have experience with using the stuff? I'm reading mixed reviews on Amazon, "Bending" it around the rear quarter windows could be an issue even with heat! Cheers Keith
  8. I'll start out with good intentions. Watching a review of a piece of kit I'm considering buying, Watching an instructioanl video to fix a problem I may have. Sooner or later however, I end up looking at trash; Bear attacks goat, Tiger versus Badger, Killer pig etc etc...
  9. Bob, Danish, did the collection go OK last night? Do I need to make arrangements with Danish to collect them? Cheers
  10. £150 paid to your paypal account as promised. Thx
  11. lol. Turn of phrase but should have said "gal" I guess Bob do you have paypal?
  12. I'm close to Cardiff so not a million miles away. I could pop around Sunday evening with the money then arrange a place, day and time to collect the parts? Are you a wine or beer kinda guy Danish?
  13. Bob, how do you want paying? Danish, where shall we meet up, and thanks for picking these up for me
  14. Cool. My front discs are 240mm too so i know they'll fit. Just need to know if M25 services are any good for Danish
  15. Do you know the offset on your split rims? My wheels have quite a deep dish as shown in the link posted previously. The offset on mine is -7
  16. Thanks Bob. Another question, sorry. I'm running 13" wheels, specifically these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-ESCORT-CAPRI-CORTINA-7X13-13X7-DEEP-DISH-ALLOY-WHEEL-SET-JBW-SUPERLIGHT-/151771715191?hash=item23564c9677:g:86UAAOSwd0BVxKhD Do you think the kit will fit? Do you live anywhere near Danish's work place next week? If not, I'll need those weights and dimensions pls Thx
  17. Cheers Danish. That would be great, assuming, as you say Bob will be near to where you'll be working. Quick question though, is there a need to machine the halfshaft flanges prior to fitting? Most of the "kits" I've seen require them to be machined.
  18. f you can give me an idea of dimensions and weight I can make a few calls
  19. For me to travel to Surrey from Cardiff and back would probably negate any "cheapness" in the sale. Would you courier them instead please and if so, any idea of cost? Cheers
  20. .... I'd rather it began with C and ended with ash to be honest
  21. ... as subject. Thx
  22. .... once at work I'm struggling to understand the "need" to depart and return home tbh. Once you were there, why didn't you simply stay there and go home at the end of the day?
