So all Mk1 Escorts up to 1970 were factory fitted with square headlights? Mine is a 1968 Apache so should have square headlights to be in-keeping with the correct era?

I've found a 3D scanning/ printing company prepared to perform a 3D scan then 3D print of the plastic pieces required to ensure a correct headlining fitment. I am recreating the "dogleg" pieces that sit at the ends as well as the "cup-like" pieces that sit in the center. The price looks to be about £25-£30 for all 8 pieces but is yet to be confirmed 100% Who needs a set?

OK. I've found somewhere to perform a 3D scan for less than the initial £300 +VATY quote. I'm sending the piece off to them today for them to scan and create a 3D model. I'll send off 1 of the 4 middle pieces too to facilitate a whole set being recreated Watch this space.... Out of curiosity, who needs a set? I'll create a new thread to get a feel for numbers

Interestingly it's really easy to find a company what will create the CAD image and then the 3D print. I'm finding it really hard to fins a firm that will perform a 3D scan though. Most Google results are ultra sound based and relate to pregnancies!

OK, so, I've found a few companies that are able to reverse engineer various components ranging from huge to minutiae! The average price to create a 3D CAD diagram of the component is £300 + VAT [typical daily rates] Then there's the cost for actual 3D printing. Somewhat expensive to recreate a few headlining components!!

I did a similar Google search myself. The ones I found need an image first in .STL format after being created with 3D CAD software. Ideally I'd need to find somebody with 3D scanning capabilities or someone able to replicate it exactly with 3D CAD software. My CAD experience is slim to nothing!

3D printing you say? Sounds like a genius idea. I'll need to find somebody than can carry out a 3D scan prior to 3D print Any ideas?
