  1. If you want sick, Google: George W Bush / George Bush / Prescott Sheldon Bush, who was a Wall Street banker and US senator. Plenty of evidences that Prescott Bush (George Bush's father) used American money channeled via US banks to Dutch banks to finance Hitler's side of the war. Amuse yourself.....
  2. Thank you Stephen and Vista, Guess life has kept me very busy in all that time and the RS has had no priority. I am working on the car a few hours every day. Plan is to fire it up in the next month or two. The master plan is to take exactly the same photo with exactly the same camera, with my same friend taking the photo on December 21, 2017. PeterM.
  3. "gold bullion now so when all the worlds cash currencies collapse because of some war....race for the hills with a hidden built in ready currency to live off." Nice idea...however even gold bullion won't fill your hungry tummy, nor provide shelter or medicine if the system is totally broken. Look at our society and how each of us is totally dependent on a daily basis that we are supplied fresh food, fresh water and electricity, on demand. The powerful elitists are slowly making it more difficult for us to survive by slowly increasing the costs of living but with no real increases in wages. Our disposable incomes are dwindling in real terms, often going into the negative. The time to race for the hills is now so that you can be up and running and totally independent for food and shelter and "off the grid", except for bartering with friends and neighbours. I have friends doing exactly this. They say they have never been happier with their lives. Oh, and you will have to give up the escort because their will be no fuel or spare parts to operate it. And, you won't have time to drive the escort because you will be spending 24 hours a day, seven days a week guarding your vegetable garden from hungry friends and neighbours.
  4. "henchmen for the large investors or industries. Its money biz, a global thing". Partly correct. Unfortunately the main goal is complete control over the masses and their assets. Called "totalitarianism". If you stand back and watch what has been happening over the past 200 years, and especially the past 20 years it becomes very obvious. Any public figure head of any government is only a puppet for the shadow governments who are in turn controlled by powerful famlies centred in Europe and the US.
  5. I bought a "Midnight" RS2000 three years ago. Currently is "Alligator Grey" (undercoat), and on a spit. In Australia the Midnight colour is by far the rarest of the RS2000 colours. Simply because it was not a very popular colour when the cars were new. Still growing on me. Maybe one day.....
  6. Photo taken on December 21, 1980 of me and my RS2000 out the front of my home. It was the first day on my full drivers licence. My father funded the purchase of the brand new RS on the condition I was never to work on motor cars. It was the first car in the family. I still own the RS (genuine 40,000km) however my father has long passed away. I still live at the same address and still have the RS t-shirt. The car has been stored since 1990. Sometime soon I hope to have the RS running so I can drive it home and take another photo in exactly the same spot.
  7. "I aint mooving to oz its sounds to strict Whats the immigration policy?" Australians are protected by one of the best Constitutions in the world. However very few Australians are are aware of the Constitution so the politicians and the law makers often to make a mockery of it to suit their own agenda. The immigration policy appears to be: 1. White's who speak English: you will need to jump through high hurdles. Often ending in rejection. 2. Non white's who do not speak English and offer no skills set: the front door is totally open, complete with lot's of subsidies, pensions and every assistance possible. Plenty of examples where new arrivals are claiming it is still not enough and demand more.... 3. Long term Australian's: all you will do is pay, pay and pay... and get nothing in return. All you will ever be is the working poor. But the weather is nice.... Peter. Sydney Australia.

    Tits...

I don't understand. Are her legs getting shorter??
  9. "The Ex" (girlfriend) who came around to my house while I was away at work and stole the pet cat - 9 months after I split from the relationship and had not spoken to each other. ....and refuses to give the cat back.
  10. Yes. Because we are always wrong.
  11. ha ha! Folk lore. Can't remember when i went to the beach last (years). Was a wonderful country to grow up in in the 1960's, '70's and '80's. But something changed in the early 1990's. Everyone is way too serious now. The "winter" here is really only 3 months. Can safely drive our old cars all year round, we don't have the rot problems as Europe. Take my hat off to restorers in the UK.
  12. well the sierra takes my vote so far. Definitely has a personality disorder, which I can relate too......
  13. "ill sit with my tinnitus" I've got that too..... Blame it on going to disco's and amping up the '80's music in the '80's in my RS2000 !
  14. Well she may not get the 80%, or 70%, or 60%, or even 50%, because divorce cases usually go through the Family Law Courts, some cases drag on for months and years and cost heaps of money and destroy people emotionally. It is the solicitors and legal firms that always win. Usually the male ends up in debt. If he has two children as dependents, if he is smart, it is best he just walks away and just gives her everything. If you have no money the legal system, via the solicitors, offer secured loans, currently at 18% interest in today's money. So in effect the loan funds more legal challenges. The solicitors win yet again. Don't forget our "Hooning Laws". If you get caught doing something stupid in your car (such as drag racing on the streets, even for a few seconds), your car will be immediately impounded by the police for 3 months. Then, if you don't play the game, or you are caught again, your car will be crushed, and you will be sent the bill. Unfortunately Australia is controlled by the corrupt legal system and political system which produces "legislation". Oh, and don't forget Australia is one country that many people are forced to pay 110% of their personal income tax each and every year. That way the state gets 10% extra free tax 12 months in advance. But the weather is nice. The only country I have visited is Germany in May 2006. It was very obvious that Germany was a much freer country to live and work in.
  15. Unfortunately this is only the start of it. Family law is much worse. Just don't be an Aussie male and get married. The wife has the ability to take 80% of all the husband's assets without question, including his superannuation. Even if your girlfriend doesn't live with you and she decides to leave her clothes (such as a pair of undies) at your place for a fixed time, she can claim a large percentage of your home.
  16. it is normal for plate type lsd's to be noisy especially after a hard run. The oil gets squeezed out from between the plates. You might hear clunking or even banging which is unnerving to hear from inside the car, even when going around shallow bends. Just do a complete oil change and do some SLOW and TIGHT left to right and right to left cornering to get the oil in between the plates again. Highly recommend NOT to use synthetic diff oil on lsd's. Plate type diffs are the best design for performance cars, however the trade off is the unnerving noise.
  17. phosphoric acid treatment, then 2 pack etch.
  18. "Too much political correctness bollox in the world nowadays in my eyes." Same here in Australia. Increasing levels of scrutiny and accountability from governments. Almost nil ability for personal defence.
  19. The "lightness" vs "heaviness" feel of the steering is dependent on a variety of factors. Some factors include width of tyres, tyre pressure, wheel offset, road surface, wheel alignments, age and amount of wear of the tyres, steering wheel diameter, level of maintenance on the front end, road wheel diameter and width (ie weight) etc. In "theory" there should be little or no difference in feel between well maintained OEM rubber bearings and the roller type. When designing, the Ford engineers opted for a steering ratio which gave a good overall "feel" or "weight" for the average person to comfortably operate at all speeds, whilst resulting in a good lock to lock. The feel and operation is legendary, especially considering the simplicity (primarily because was very cheap to manufacture) of the entire front end. By reducing the rack ratio will increase the manual effort to steer. A solution to heavy steering is power steering which is a fairly simple upgrade and a well trodden path in Escort Land.
  20. Hi All, I have been asked to reproduce the Capri Bulkhead/Brake Servo Rod Grommet. Recently received one in good condition, however is missing the centre section. (see piccie) Can anyone send a piccie of one intact? Much prefer to accurately reproduce than guess. Ford P/No. 77EB-2LC069-BA (this is the bulkhead seal not the bellows grommet). Many Thanks, Peter.
  21. Hi All, The van is a July 1979 Australian build 1600 I purchased in April 1986. It is my daily drive. Completely factory standard, although repainted but never restored. The RS2000 was bought by me brand new as a teenager in May 1980. I rolled it and wrote it off on Boxing Day 1981. I completely rebuilt it over two years. Every panel was replaced except the passengers rear door and the boot lid. Still own it with genuine 40,000km. The photo was taken in June 1980. The blue RS2000 is a December 1979 Australian build. Very rare factory installed slide back sunroof. Colour: Midnight. Currently I am accurately restoring it to Ford original concourse "as delivered to first owner by Ford". The photo was taken on December 21, 2012 "as I found it". Thanks, PeterM.
  22. Hi Everyone! A newbie saying hello. I have owned Escorts continuously since 1980 when I was 17 years old. My daily driver is a factory standard 1979 Escort panel van purchased in April 1986. Absolutely no intention of going backwards by buying something newer. Looks like a great group here so you might see me from time to time. Thanks, PeterM.
