When removing a fuel tank from a previous car I noticed something wasn't right in the filler neck.

The rubber had perished so some knuckle head jammed a short piece of plastic pipe in the hole and screwed it to the body adaptor........ genius

Ps just spent about 20 mins looking for this photo :D

Id be more concerned about the cardboard fuel tank.

If you could explain it to me then it would be much appreciated! 🤮

Its hard to explain really isnt it.

Its from an era before i was born or maybe from my childhood days.

A bit more than your average custom job. I like the American day vans with mad paint and porthole windows aswell.

Any vehicles that are about from back then need to be kept and show from an era of customizing that is probably never to be repeated.

I actually sort of get it 😁.

I don't like the pipe things sticking out of the front but other than that, it looks like it was built in the day of this type of thing. Munsters inspired. Must have been quite a new car when it was done.

Current state of the SC, getting there but it all takes time and money, and I am trying to do as much as I can myself, except the final coat of paint.

I love these. Was a poster car on my wall as a kid.

On my bucket list for ever but the prices have doubled in recent years and i didn't snap one up in time.

Is yours a Targa or tin top?

Even 924s are decent mone now but never liked em.

Is this a Trabant? I had to look that one up!

    Yep, thats it.

Mine apparently was used in a film over here.

Problem was the logbook i got with it wasnt for the car i bought.

After doing a bit of homework it turned out to not be uk registered so was unusable in the uk.

Bought  it for pounds and sold it for pennies 🙄.

    Live and learn.

Funny little car and would have another as long as it was UK registered etc...

Its an old Skoda from the late 80s to early 90s. Eastern European (Russian?)before VW took over.

Air cooled rear engine if memory serves.

It was my plan B if i couldnt afford the Escort that i bought.

Had a Trabant a few years ago too so yes, i do have strange tastes in cars.

Although that was a bad buy and never made it onto the road.

I thought I would expand this thread for anyone to post those lost and abandoned Old Skool Fords

Searching for parts can be an adventure. How far will you go to get that illusive original part?

To be fair I've seen worse than that for sale on Ebay UK labelled as a barn find!

Theyd make great posters if not a little sad to see.
