Hi all, i will be getting some reproduction black boot badges for my mk2 what retained clips will i need, the orignal ford ones have a small split metal clip but all i can find on ebay are clear plastic ones that push on . Can you still buy the metal clips ?

If i my car wasn't fully painted and underseald underneath and all the chassis rails wax injected i would consider a tension strut kit but i am not risking catching the thing on fire as i nearly lost it due to a welding fire while I was restoring the dam thing 😔

I threw the dam things in the scrap bin at work cus that's where they belong 🤣 I have got gp4 fabrication ones now and will be getting one of there arb's when funds allow.

Avoid Rally design twin cam roll bars and there brackits at all costs , its over priced junk that doesn't fit . This is the mess i have got to put right after buying there crap.

Its only going to be a fast ( ish !) Road car , i feel that tension struts are a bit ott for what i am going to be using it for. The twin cam arb set up should be a more affordable way of makeing it handle better without spending a fortune.

I think i have ended up with a badly reproduced twin cam arb to be honist, i have seen and worked on plenty of mk2 rally cars and have never seen anything with that much castor ever !! I thought the brackits were wrong for a start so i got a pair from gp4 fabrication and it made no difference. I think i will have buy on of there matching roll bars and see if it makes any difference. I know you can space the tca's back with washers for fine adjustment but there is no way its going to bring that back to anything worth using ! Moral of the story is to stear clear of rally design bits in future 🤦‍♂️

The twin cam arb was bought from rally design about 10 years ago 🤔 The brackits are from gp4 fabrication, i got them a few weeks back cus i thought the ones i had were wrong but thay made no difference. Think i might have to get one from grp 4 to match there brackits.

I downloaded the lit photo app and its all good.

Have maniged to sort the picture problam so here goes .....

Hi all . I am haveing a nightmare putting the front end of my mk2 together 🤬 I have got a pair of "World cup" front bilstein front struts fitted with -1 in springs with roller top mounts a wcxm with ajustable tca's, a 2.4 quick rack a twin cam arb and the correct ( from gp4 fabrication) double width brackits . Now i know the twin cam arb pulls the front struts forward to give better camber but this just looks silly, and the struts are nearly hitting the inner wing supports 😳 . And the outher problem i have got is the drivers sids rack arm wont drop down far enough to connect to the strut but the passenger side one will 🤦‍♂️ Any advise please cus its doing me head in now ☹

Its a King joke 🤦‍♂️ I bought a pair of cibie 7in headlamps from my local car parts place about 2 years ago for 45 quid brand new , you see 2nd hand ones go for 100 quid a side 😳

My mk2 escort was a realy late German built rhd car, November 1980 if memory serves and it was fitted with a 48in wide koln axle when i bought it originally.

Thats what i was hoping!! As the taper in the bolt on RS steering arm is the same be it off a mk1 or mk2 escort . Will get a pair of mk1 rod ends and go from there me thinks !

I have got a pair but they wont fit the unf arms in the photo cus the green track rod ends are an M14 thread 😔

Hi all. After haveing a job fitting my billet rack clamps ( lots of filling to make them fit) it turns out i have got unf rack arms ( mk1 escort?) Not the M14 metric mk2 arms 🤦‍♂️ My question is is there a track rod end that will fit the unf arms and fit to rs style bilstein front struts or have i got to swop the rack arms to the M14 arms and use "green" track rod ends . Thanks 😊
